Mary's Pantry, as a ministry and outreach of IHM parish, serves as a vehicle for extending God's abundance in response to the need of individuals and families, of all cultures and beliefs, who request assistance to supplement their own resources for food and clothing. The staff and volunteers respond by extending God's love, compassion, and blessings through conversation, guidance, and the distribution of material items of food, clothing, and household necessities.
If you, or someone you know, needs assistance, please visit our pantry during regular hours, or give us a call at 315-457-5787. All inquiries are confidential.
Mary’s Pantry is located in a small house on the Parish property. Each room offers a different piece of the program. There is a “living room” for informal conversation with an information and referral table and daily bread and pastry. There are 2 rooms that contain the food portion of the food pantry. In addition, there is a clothing room - available to anyone at any time which includes clothing, coats, boots, and shoes for all ages. We have books available to adults and children to read, borrow, or keep. The community supports this effort with continual generous donations of gently used clothing, books, and household items. Those who have fallen in hard times usually need more than food. We talk with folks to find out the issues they are struggling with and what their potential barriers are. We offer support and links to a range of services in addition to increasing food security.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.
