Diocesan Sacrament Guidelines for Confirmation
Students may begin preparation for Confirmation in 9th grade. Typically it is a two year process - but may take up to four if needed. Classes meet once a month on Sundays.
DO YEAR 2 CANDIDATES NEED TO REGISTER FOR THIS YEAR?
YES We do not automatically carry the names over
CAN WE TAKE DOUBLE CLASSES TO COMPLETE THE PREPARATION IN ONE YEAR?
NO Confirmation is not a subject to be learned. It is the Sacrament that completes your initiation into the Catholic Church and strengthens you through the power of the Holy Spirit. This strength will help you to be a disciple in the world and to become a more active member of the Church.
Informational Meeting for those enrolling in our
Confirmation Program.
The Candidate and a parent need to attend one of the two meeting options.
YES, year 2 candidates must attend as well.
Confirmation candidates attend ONE (1) regular class each month. Classes are offered twice monthly to help families avoid conflicts. Also, the parishes of Christ the King and Pope John XXIII have a merged Faith Formation program - so, candidates can attend class options at either Parish. While candidates must attend one of the two class options, it does not have to be the same time/place each month. Choose the option that works best for your family that particular month. Please plan ahead as these are the only class options.
The classes are a mix of Years 1 and 2 candidates. All material is covered over the course of the two year process.
