Opportunities for Confession

Jesus entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. The Sacrament of Penance is God's gift to us so that any sin committed after Baptism can be forgiven. In confession, we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. It is a holy moment in which we place ourselves in his presence and honestly acknowledge our sins, especially mortal sins. With absolution, we are reconciled to God and the Church.
At different times of the liturgical year, the Sacrament of Penance (confession) may be offered at additional times to give the faithful more opportunities to participate in the sacrament and seek the forgiveness of God. A schedule of these additional opportunities can be found below.

The Light Is On For You

‘The Light is On For You’ is an initiative of the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington, where Catholic churches across the United States are open for quiet prayer and Confession throughout Lent.
